Questions

Answers before you ask

Everything below is general and educational. None of it describes a specific product, quotes a figure, or tells you what to do. If your question is not here, it is a good one to bring to a conversation.

01

Getting started

What a first conversation involves, what it costs, and what is expected of you afterwards.

What happens in a consultation?

It is a conversation. Arsine asks about your household and what you are trying to plan for, answers your questions, and explains general concepts in plain language. Most of the first part is listening rather than explaining, because the useful answers depend entirely on your circumstances. Nothing is decided on the call unless you want it to be.

Does a consultation cost anything?

No. There is no cost for the conversation and no obligation to do anything afterwards. That applies whether it is a first conversation or a later one.

Will I be pressured to decide something?

No. Nothing is decided during a consultation and there is no expectation that you decide anything afterwards either. In practice the questions that matter most tend to surface two or three days later, once a conversation has settled and you have talked it over with whoever else is involved. Deciding in your own time is the normal outcome.

Do I need to prepare anything beforehand?

Nothing is required and no documents are requested in advance. Having a rough sense of who depends on you, and a rough monthly figure for what your household runs on, tends to make the conversation shorter and considerably more useful. Two or three written questions help as well, because it is easy to forget what you wanted to ask once a conversation is under way.

Can my partner join the conversation?

Yes, and where a decision would involve more than one person it is usually better. Because consultations are virtual, two people can join from different places, which is often easier than finding a time you are both in the same room.

02

Virtual consultations

Every consultation is virtual. There is no in person option.

Why are consultations virtual only?

It removes travel from both sides, which makes scheduling easier and gives a household in a rural county exactly the same access as one in a city. It also makes it practical for two people in a household to join from different places. For states the size of Nevada and California, that is a meaningful difference rather than a convenience.

Do I need to turn my camera on?

No. Audio only is entirely normal, particularly for a first conversation, and it makes no difference to what is discussed.

What technology do I need?

Nothing unusual. A phone or a computer with a working microphone is enough, and a quiet half hour matters more than the equipment.

03

Life insurance guidance

General and educational answers only. Nothing here describes a specific product or what any particular person should do.

What does a general conversation about life insurance cover?

It starts with who depends on you and for roughly how long, rather than with options. From there it covers what your household would want to keep the same, which commitments continue regardless of whether income arrives, and which questions are worth thinking through further. It does not produce a recommendation, does not compare named products, and does not describe features or costs.

How do I work out what my household actually needs?

Start by listing who relies on you, including anyone who relies on your time rather than your income, and note how long that is likely to continue. Then list the commitments that would carry on regardless. Those two lists do more work in a conversation than any calculator, because they describe your household rather than an average one.

Is there a right time to think about this?

Change is a better prompt than the calendar. A birth, a marriage, a separation, a move, a new job, or taking on responsibility for a relative all change who depends on you or what your household runs on. In the absence of any of those, revisiting the questions every couple of years is a reasonable rhythm.

Can you tell me which option is best for me?

A consultation is general and educational. It explains how things work in plain language and helps you work out what questions matter for your situation. It is not advice and it does not recommend a particular course of action.

Income protection planning

Thinking ahead about a period when household income stops or is reduced.

How long could my household manage without income?

That is the single most useful figure in this subject and most households have never worked it out. Take what you could actually access within a fortnight without penalty, and divide it by the commitments that would continue if income stopped. The result is a number of months. There is no correct answer, and the value lies in knowing your own figure honestly rather than assuming it.

Does this only matter for single earner households?

No. Two earner households frequently carry a quiet assumption that the second income continues unchanged, which is worth testing. In some circumstances the event that interrupts one income also changes the other, particularly where care needs at home increase at the same time.

What if something already exists through my employer?

That is worth establishing in detail, and two details matter more than the rest: when it would begin, and whether it continues if the employment ends. Anything provided through an employer is tied to that employment, which is the gap people are most often surprised by.

05

Funeral cost planning

A subject most families postpone. These answers are deliberately calm and quote no figures.

What does planning ahead for funeral costs actually involve?

Less than people expect, and it is more about decisions than money. A family arranging a funeral makes a series of choices in a short window, often within days. Recording what matters to you, and explicitly saying that the rest is up to them, removes most of the uncertainty they would otherwise carry.

Do I have to decide everything in advance?

No, and trying to usually makes the subject harder than it needs to be. A short note saying what genuinely matters to you, what you would specifically not want, and that everything else is the family's choice is more useful than an exhaustive plan. Telling one person that the note exists is what makes it work.

Why does this website not quote typical funeral costs?

Because costs vary considerably by region and by the choices made at the time, so a national average is not a useful number for any particular family. This website quotes no figures, no averages and no statistics of any kind.

06

Nevada service

Licensing is per state, which determines who is permitted to work with you as a Nevada resident.

Which states does Arsine serve?

Nevada and California. She is licensed in both and works with residents of either state. Because consultations are virtual, it makes no difference where in either state you live.

Does Arsine have an office in Las Vegas?

No. Consultations are virtual only and there is no public office to visit. That is what makes it possible to work with households anywhere in Nevada on the same terms, including those a long way from the valley, where an in person appointment can cost a household half a day.

How do I verify a Nevada licence?

Nevada producers are regulated by the Nevada Division of Insurance, part of the Department of Business and Industry, and licence records are public. Arsine's Nevada number is 4238961, published on every page of this website so it can be checked independently. Asking any agent for a licence number is reasonable and a licensed agent will expect it.

Can I speak with an agent licensed only in another state?

Not for business concerning you as a Nevada resident. A producer must hold a Nevada licence to transact with somebody living in Nevada. That is why verifying the number before a conversation matters more than verifying it afterwards.

07

California service

One statewide service, and the rights California residents have over the information they share.

Is the service available across all of California?

Yes. Consultations are virtual, so the service is identical whether a household is in Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange County, Riverside, San Bernardino, Sacramento or the San Francisco Bay Area. There is no office in any of those places and this website does not suggest otherwise.

How do I verify a California licence?

California producers are regulated by the California Department of Insurance and licence records are public. Arsine's California number is 4566385. A producer must hold a California licence to transact with somebody living here, regardless of where the producer is based.

My household is split across Nevada and California. Is that a problem?

No. Licensing follows each resident rather than the household, and Arsine is licensed in both states. It is worth mentioning at the start so the conversation accounts for it. Both states observe Pacific Time, so scheduling is straightforward.

Can I ask what information is held about me?

Yes. California residents can ask what information is held and request correction or deletion. The request form collects only what you enter into it and never asks for a Social Security number, medical records, financial account details or any government identification number. The Privacy Policy sets out the detail and is being finalised with legal counsel before launch.

I live outside Nevada and California. Can Arsine help?

Not at present. An insurance producer must hold a licence in the state where you live, and Arsine holds licences in Nevada and California only.

08

Contact and request forms

What the request form is, what it collects, and what it does not.

Is the request form an application?

No. The form is a request for a consultation. It is not an insurance application, it does not bind any coverage, and it does not ask for medical or financial account information.

What information does the form collect?

Only what you enter: your name, a phone number or email address, your state, and optionally a ZIP code, a topic, contact preferences and a message. It never asks for a Social Security number, medical records, health history, banking or card details, or any government identification number, and it rejects any attempt to submit a field outside that list.

What should I do if I would rather just talk?

Call 702-337-0057. Calls are answered personally, and for many people it is the better route. The form exists for people who would rather write than call, not as the preferred path.

Still wondering

Ask it on the call

30 answers only go so far. A conversation is where a general answer becomes one about your household. No cost, no obligation, and nothing decided on the call.
